3rd Helensburgh takes part in the World Jamboree

In 1995 The 3rd Helensburgh Scout Group sent four representatives to the World Jamboree in Holland. Jason Crawford, Alasdair Lawson, Alan Yendall and David MacColl travelled to Dronten to join 30,000 Scouts from all around the world in the camp village which was built on reclaimed land. The Venture Scouts held a fund-raising disco to help with the costs. The boys presented a slide show and talk at the Group AGM to share their experience.

Chile Jamboree logo      Andrew Falconer travelled to Chile to join in the Jamboree experience. Andrew, his family and the troop worked hard to fund this trip. Andrew climbed Ben Lomond to raise sponsorship for the trip. The Plant Stall at the Autumn Fair was run by Andrew's family specifically for this purpose. The group enjoyed hearing about Andrew's adventures at an EGM in March.
